As with anything there are highs and lows everyone must overcome. Today I am experiencing one of those “HIGHS”!!!!! After getting our biometrics done on Friday, this morning my son brought yesterday’s mail in with our I-797 approval to adopt notice thrown in amongst pizza coupons and the Haverty’s Furniture mailer. Don’t know what I was expecting, but after all the waiting and anticipation, I reckon I figured it should be hand delivered in a golden envelope, at the very least.

This is the first time ANYTHING has gone quickly for us during this journey. I cannot believe I let this precious document spend the night amongst garbage and in the rain!! We have one of the community mailboxes you have to walk to and at one point yesterday evening I thought, “I should go check the mail” but then talked myself out of it. Never dawned on me the approval would have processed and actually been mailed so quickly!!

So now we wait for our documents to be reviewed by China and sometime between now and then we will find out who our daughter is!!! When Jacob handed me the envelope. I squealed and I danced and I jumped up and down. The boys just stared and then laughed at me, the dog was excited too.  Jacob said “Mom’s acting like a little girl!”. Yes, yes I was! Because I am that much closer to my little girl!!!!

Touch the Sky is working to support the adoption of a girl who was previously advocated by the name Tamarix. She is a bright, beautiful 12 year old little girl from Xi'an China who is deaf. She loves to draw and the orphanage director says she often draws picture of a family. She very much wants to be adopted and wants a family desperately.  Go to their page to learn how you can donate or buy a t-shirt/tote bag to support a grant that will allow a family to bring her home.
