Be still and know….

Be still and know….

Be still and know….

I’ve been neglectful to my sweet little blog and I apologize. This has been a week full of excitement, a little panic, reflection, and prayer for my husband and me. There’s a lot bouncing around in our heads and hearts and we are praying for the courage and strength to make the right decision, whatever it may be. That’s all I can say about that for the moment.

Isn’t it funny how life keeps going on around you even though you really just need it to be still for just a few moments?  Baseball games still need playing, windstorms will still blow your grill off the patio and all your recycling down the street and into your little old lady neighbor’s yard, boys will still need to be fed and schooled and hugged and sent to their rooms until their daddy gets home, and the blasted laundry will just keep on piling up. But isn’t it amazing how God never leaves you, He never forsakes you, even when things are crazy hectic around you.

Because of all this distraction, I did not notice the week slip by, I did not notice that the next crucial step in the adoption did not occur like I hoped it would. I did notice that I am ok about it (for now). And I did notice I’m beginning to get a better grasp of this waiting on the Lord business. I will admit I did not feel this same peace at the beginning of my week. For all of you with big decisions, confusion, hurts, and praises I pray that through all the distractions what’s really important isn’t lost. Remember to be still and know He is Lord and He’s got this. Even if being still means getting in the shower and staying in there till you’ve ran all the hot water out a few times during the week (don’t tell Josh, I’ll never admit to doing it).

Touch the Sky is working to support the adoption of a girl who was previously advocated by the name Tamarix. She is a bright, beautiful 12 year old little girl from Xi'an China who is deaf. She loves to draw and the orphanage director says she often draws picture of a family. She very much wants to be adopted and wants a family desperately.  Go to their page to learn how you can donate or buy a t-shirt/tote bag to support a grant that will allow a family to bring her home.
