Today we had to take our sweet baby to the clinic for her US Consulate medical exam.  It was a hard thing to be a part of.  The doctors there were surprised she didn’t come straight from the hospital and that she had never been treated.   Today we had our first experience with blood work and seeing worried medical professionals hoover over our baby and not being able to do a thing to help.  She is so very sick and so very tiny, it’s easy to forget thoat because she is so happy.  I did not like this part of the day.

June 26, 2013 "Medical and Passport Day"I did like rocking/singing her to sleep and holding her during nap time.  She was having a hard time falling asleep and getting “worked up” is simply not a good thing.  She gets so blue…  I did like having her wake up smiling at me.  I liked watching her and Josh do their daddy daughter thing.  I over heard him talking to her today, he asked her “What did you say? Whatever it is, the answer is ‘yes’.  The answer will always be ‘yes’ for you, baby girl.” AAAAHHH! Again, this is my barbarian husband.

June 26, 2013 "Medical and Passport Day"At breakfast this morning, she again tried with all her might to climb out of the highchair while he was getting his food.  He went back for seconds and it nearly did her in. He stopped, turned around, picked her up, and took her with him to pick out his breakfast pastry.  He told her, “I’d never did this for your brothers, don’t tell them”.  I reminded him that I did, the boys had their turn.  I suppose it is the natural order of things.

June 26, 2013 "Medical and Passport Day"While at the police station applying for her passport Josh took Lizzie for a little walk.  SO STINKING CUTE!!!!  I got up to take a picture of the sweet moment and a woman yelled at me, “You no take pictures! Security building, no pictures!”.  I already took the shot though, oops!  After that we went shopping with our group and bought her a tea set and 2 Chinese silk dresses.  We finished off the day with a delicious Cantonese meal with our guide and the other 2 families traveling with us.

June 26, 2013 "Medical and Passport Day"  June 26, 2013 "Medical and Passport Day"She was completely worn out and again had a hard time settling down.  Josh held her until she fell asleep.  Tonight I feel completely overwhelmed with love for our baby girl.  She is no longer an orphan, she no longer has to be alone.  She finally gets to know what it is to have a momma and daddy.  We have no idea what tomorrow will bring, but we do know God has His hands in this and will carry us through each day.  I had no idea just how much we needed her.  One teeny tiny spunky little Chinese girl changed us forever and I am so thankful.

Touch the Sky is working to support the adoption of a girl who was previously advocated by the name Tamarix. She is a bright, beautiful 12 year old little girl from Xi'an China who is deaf. She loves to draw and the orphanage director says she often draws picture of a family. She very much wants to be adopted and wants a family desperately.  Go to their page to learn how you can donate or buy a t-shirt/tote bag to support a grant that will allow a family to bring her home.
